Has it been only twenty days since this restricted movement decree started? Feels like it has been ages!
Seeing a Facebook post about Durbar’s 鸡粒饭 still available for takeaways gave me an idea of cooking that for dinner. It’s not something I would choose to have at a restaurant but hubby often goes for that. Well, the important thing is it is a one-dish meal, does not require a lot of ingredients and is quite easy-peasy where culinary skills are concerned.
Irene’s 鸡粒饭 |
There, that’s Irene’s 鸡粒饭 (cubed chicken rice), a concoction of what was available in my refrigerator. “Sedapkah, sayang?” An emphatic nod was all the encouragement I needed. But hubby added, “A more refined version of V_ _ _ s’ cubed chicken rice.” He was referring to a local coffee shop that we patronise, and where he would undoubtedly order that dish. Needless to say, I was in seventh heaven.
And for dessert, we shared a starfruit. It was one of two starfruits thoughtfully given by my dear ex-colleague cum neighbour, Cheng. She had cycled in the hot sun over to my house yesterday and left them at my gate.
