4 more days to the end of MCO Phase 3, and then we enter Phase 4. The intense kitchen activity continues, and so will this blog. But will I be able to hold off repeating a meat dish?

Hubby was, once again, in charge of frying the fish for tonight. I settled the rest : lemon sauce for the fried grouper and Mushroom Medley (三杯汁三菇). I thought the fish was a fairly small size, so I threw in some spring rolls as a last minute addition.

Irene, how do you cook the mushroom dish? I usually cook it with another vegetable such as broccoli or in a noodle dish as I don't know how to make it as a stand alone dish. Thanks in advance :)
ReplyDeleteHi Alexandra! After browning the sliced ginger and minced garlic, I added the mushrooms (today I used fresh brown mushrooms, oyster mushroom and shimeji mushrooms). Thai basil leaves would work well with this dish but hubby is not partial to them so I had to omit them. For the seasoning, the soya sauce, Shaoxing wine and sesame oil make up the 3 cups, hence the name. But sesame oil has to be added at the end of the frying.
